a valiant effort.

Or not so much. We brought the camera along with us on our weekend adventures to Winkler, Rosenort, and then Grand Forks - but failed to take it out of our backpack. Good intentions did not produce any finished product yet again.

We had a delightful time in Grand Forks. Never have Ken and I been on such a power-shopping trip, nor have we been so successful in 4 short hours. We managed to pack our car FULL...so full in fact that we had to unbox the bbq we bought and toss it in our car in pieces in order to fit. It was quite the sight, us fumbling with styrofoam and a huge cardboard box outside of Lowe's, with our other purchases (including a stroller/carseat, area rug, curtain rod, diapers, and shower curtain) strewn about on the pavement. We fit it all, however, and felt good about all we came home with. Surprisingly, we really enjoyed the experience too (which for us is quite the feat, as shopping has not been a strong 'relationship building' component of our marriage thus far).

And so, because we don't have photos of the weekend to show you - I thought I'd provide some mid-week entertainment by showcasing the fantastic decor that appears in the kitchen of our new home. If anyone is interested in the faux stone paneling, let us know - when we rip it out I'm sure we can save some for you!

What? You mean to tell me that those aren't real stones? CONGRATS on the house!! Very exciting!!!! All the best as you make it your own...and it must be exciting to know that THIS is going to be the house you bring your baby home to.

Oh, and shopping together has never been our strong point either...but it has gotten better for E & I after 6+ years ;)

I would have loved to see you guys packing your car full. WOW is all I can muster up for comments regarding the kitchen. Can't wait for you guys to make the house your own. I miss you tons! 2 weeks without contact is far too long I think - and I'm not even in church this week! Love ya!

WOWZA!! Love that kitchen :) Looks like you've got your work cut out for you, hey!? It'll be fun though and like I said, if you need any help, I'd be happy to suggest some design tips from afar :)
Hope you're doing well!

uww me uww me i want it i want it to go with my green painted counter top, don't worry about remodeling it will come, we are definetly figuring that out with our house too. just think though if you redo the kitchen you can add alot of equity to the house and up the price alot when you go to sell later on. i miss you, just remember to go slow with the remodeling and to ask lots of questions and to plan plan plan for spending you money!!!!
